An architect by profession. Graduated from Cracow University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture. Signature Member of Association of Polish Watercolour Artists. Contrary to his technical education perceives watercolour as a category of painting/ art rather than graphics. Elements of architecture frequently appear in his works, though they are never represented directly; they are usually part of a broader cultural landscape. The coexistence of natural landscape and human artifacts makes a remarkable material which enables the artist to create a half-realistic, half-poetic vision of the world, a vision as elusive as the changing light or seasons of the year.

During the workshop, I will present the main advantages of the watercolor technique and present ways to deal with its limitations. Our main area of interest will be landscape and architectural painting, taking into account different seasons and light. During the course, I will try to familiarize participants with basic issues related to the classic painting form in the realistic and impressionist style, such as the choice of the appropriate motif and frame, the main compositional assumptions and the choice of the leading element of the composition. I will pay particular attention to the types and role of light in painting, based on specific examples.
